Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a club organizer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why the dish should be included is slightly repetitive and contains a contradiction (you describe it as 'time consuming' when you likely meant 'time-saving' or 'quick to prepare'). To improve, ensure that your supporting arguments are logically consistent and clearly articulated to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. Paragraphing is used to separate the different points of the task. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'To sum up' which is more typical of an essay than a personal letter. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow, such as 'I some interesting offer in my mind', which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'international students' club', 'garnish', and 'chutney'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors or unnatural collocations, such as 'inform you about some famous dishes which I want to you add in your list' and 'it is not only delicious to make but also time consuming'. The latter is a significant error as it contradicts your previous point about the dish being quick to make. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise adjectives and ensuring correct collocations will help you reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Members of society has the ability') and missing articles or prepositions ('I some interesting offer', 'made up of some wheat flour'). There are also errors in sentence construction, such as 'This dish ought to include in the event' (should be passive: 'ought to be included'). While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to impact the clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors will be beneficial.
