You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

Dear Luis,

I am writing to express my interest in participating in the upcoming international food event.

My name is Harman and I am from India, a country known for its culture and food throughout the world. The dish I am going to make is 'Dahi Chaat' which is a popular street food famous among every age group due to its savoury taste.

The dish is simple and easy to make. The ingredients of the dish are whisked yogurt, fried dough crisp , boiled potatoes and chickpeas, Indian spices, sweet and spicy sauce made from mint and tamarind. After the ingredients are assembled on the plate, it is garnished with pomegranate seeds and coriander. The dish has a distinct combination of sweet, savoury and tangy flavours.

I want to include this dish because it is healthy and tasty even easy to make. Moreover, I want the people to enjoy something other than classic dishes such as chicken tikka, biryani. Furthermore, it is served cold, making it convenient to prepare and manage. I hope you like my suggestion for the event. See you at the event.
