Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points, but the development is uneven. While you offer to make a dish and describe it, the explanation of why it should be included is missing. Furthermore, the letter is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the overall task completion. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to an organizer, but the content regarding the recipe is a bit repetitive and lacks the persuasive element required to explain why the dish is a good fit for the event. To improve, ensure you explicitly state the reasons for your choice and expand on your ideas to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a standard structure with a clear opening and closing. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas within the paragraph describing the dish is somewhat disjointed. The transition between the ingredients and the cooking process is abrupt, and the paragraphing could be more effectively managed to separate the offer, the description, and the justification. Improving the flow between sentences would help the reader follow your argument more easily.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, though it is quite basic and repetitive. You use simple terms like 'popular', 'dish', and 'make'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'patatos', 'tomatos', 'accordlingly', and 'unfforgettable', which slightly distract the reader. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise culinary vocabulary and ensure accurate spelling. Using a wider variety of descriptive adjectives and more sophisticated collocations would also enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'regarding to invite', 'dish which is popular... that curry', and 'need basen'. The sentence 'our special dish is ready to' is incomplete. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Practicing the construction of complex sentences will help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range while maintaining accuracy.
