IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

Dear Luis,

I hope you are well. I am aware that you might be a busy in arrangements of upcoming events. I am writing this letter in regarding a food festival which will be held on next Sunday.

I want you to add one more dish on the cooking dish which is very popular in my country. The dish named "smoky paneer". I believe that people will love it.

The dish is made up of cottage cheese with onions and peppers marinated with spicy sauce then cooking on the fire in tandoor or barbaque which make them smoky flavour. This dish originated from a small village in india as in former times they did not have facilities to cook food, they used to marinate vegetables and paneer and cook on wood fire.

The dish itself has a backstory, I believe people will have a chance to know about former time cooking. Additionally, its smoky flavour is something new which our local people are not aware about it.

I hope you understand and let me introduce that dish in festival.
