Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to prepare a Veg briyani food in an International students club event. This is very famous and delicious dish . I am sure students would enjoy trying it.

Veg briyani is a very famous especially in north side. This dish made with basmati rice, a variety of vegetables, various ingredients such as cloves, salt, briyani masala and others. This dish served with green yogurt and salid.

I want to give suggestion to include this dish because it represents indian culture and tradition as well as this is light weight healthy dish. Moreover, many people can eat many vegetables while eating veg briyani as this is made from different kinds of vegis which are tasty and delicious.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining why it should be included. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a club organizer. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the dish is quite basic, and the explanation for its inclusion relies on repetitive phrasing like 'tasty and delicious'. To reach a higher band, try to elaborate more on the cultural significance or the specific sensory experience of the dish to provide a more engaging response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'I am sure', which provide a logical flow. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the connection between ideas could be smoother. For instance, the transition between describing the ingredients and the serving suggestion is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive. You use words like 'famous', 'dish', and 'delicious' multiple times, which limits the range of your expression. There are also some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'vegis' (vegetables), 'salid' (salad), and 'fimilar' (familiar). To improve, try to use more precise synonyms and ensure correct spelling of common culinary terms. Expanding your vocabulary to include more descriptive adjectives and specific cooking-related terminology would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'This dish made with' (missing auxiliary verb 'is'), 'a very famous especially in north side' (incorrect article usage and preposition), and 'I look forward hearing' (should be 'to hearing'). While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in articles, verb forms, and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
