IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

I am writing this letter in request to consider one of my traditional dish from India at our international student club which we have an event on 25th August 2026.

The dish is know as 'Idle and sambhar' which is locally eaten by every corner in India. This dish was first originated in Southern part of India and Idle are made from a cooked rice and sambhar is made from various 'Dal'.

As i hear that our main motive is to include a healthy food from different nations. so, i think that my dish will be the best choice. Also i had seen in circular that there are three guest which are being invited to our club and they are south indians.So, i think this would be the proper choice to consider my traditional dish as guest will also be happy.

I am looking forward to hear from you and i am hoping that you keep my all points in mind and consider my dish in our event.
