Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organiser. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the dish is brief, and the explanation for why it should be included relies on general statements like 'it is so delicious'. To improve, you could provide more specific details about the cultural significance of the dish or how it would enhance the event's atmosphere to better meet the requirements for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organised into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You have used basic cohesive devices such as 'because' and 'so that' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there is a lack of more sophisticated linking words or referencing. For instance, the transition between the description of the dish and the explanation for its inclusion could be smoother. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would help the text progress more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'vegetarian dish' and 'protein'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'give information about our international student's club organize' (should be 'organising') and 'Its enrich with' (should be 'It is enriched with'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'their is no carb' (should be 'there is no carbohydrate'), 'especially who live' (should be 'especially for those who live'), and 'any age of person' (should be 'people of any age'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of subject-verb agreement and prepositional usage.
