Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well, I am Ben, a member of an International Students' club. I am writing this letter to you as I do want to make well-known recipe of my nation.

I want to make dish called DAAL-BATI. It is proper RAJSTHANI dish of India. It is very famous among all Indians, also most of the people love to it that. We made the DAAL with the different vegetables like onions, tomato, ginger, garlic etc. Moreover, BATI made up of various Flours like wheat, rice and others.

I want to include this in program because, it is one of the traditional food of my country, likewise, it is so delicious and flavorful. In addition to that, this food is very healthy for our gut health. In AURVEDA, author describe this food as a 'super food'. It can reduce the chances of the constipation.

I believe that, you consider my request and will give me the opportunity to represent my country. Thank you for your time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining why it should be included. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organiser. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the description of the dish is a bit repetitive, and the explanation for its inclusion relies on general statements about health benefits. To reach a higher band, you should provide more vivid descriptions of the dish's flavor profile or cultural significance and offer more specific reasons why it would be a highlight for an international student event.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organised into clear paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on one of the required points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition to that', and 'I believe that'. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'I am writing this letter to you as I do want to make well-known recipe'. The flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'traditional food', 'flavorful', and 'super food'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'make well-known recipe of my nation' (should be 'prepare a well-known dish from my country') and 'love to it that'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are more natural and precise in a formal context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the different vegetables', 'the constipation'), prepositions, and verb forms ('BATI made up of', 'author describe'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some comma splices and missing articles. To achieve a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
