Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, the description of Biryani is very brief, and the explanation for why it should be included lacks depth, relying on repetitive phrasing like 'everyone would happy'. To improve, you should provide more descriptive details about the ingredients or the cultural significance of the dish. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the tone is somewhat informal and lacks the professional polish expected in a formal letter to an event organiser.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between sentences is often disjointed due to a lack of cohesive devices. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and there is a lack of logical progression between ideas. For example, the transition between introducing yourself and describing the dish is abrupt. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your thoughts more smoothly. Additionally, ensure that your paragraphing is consistent and that each paragraph focuses on a single clear topic.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'interduse' (introduce), 'apportunity' (opportunity), 'anouther' (another), 'test' (taste), 'ocation' (occasion), 'preffar' (prefer), 'netion' (nation), 'cosidered' (considered), and 'aprove' (approve). These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to understand your intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and focus on accurate spelling. Using more precise adjectives to describe the food and more formal verbs to express your intentions would significantly enhance your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'I am writing this letter in regard to the give suggestion' should be 'given suggestion', and 'I am very excited to will come' is grammatically incorrect. Many sentences are simple and lack the complexity required for higher bands. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like verb tenses and word forms before submitting your work.
