Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points: offering a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of 'panner' is quite vague, and the explanation for its inclusion relies on repetitive points about health and dietary preferences. To improve, you should provide more specific details about the dish's flavor profile or cultural significance. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to an event organizer, though the structure is slightly informal. Ensure that you fully expand on each point to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'However, this is vegetarian dish' is used incorrectly, as the preceding sentence does not contrast with this point. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack logical flow, such as 'and in this i offering popular dish and more.' The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track the subject matter. Improving your use of linking words like 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in addition' would help create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You rely on simple descriptors like 'famous,' 'popular,' and 'good.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'reputation food' instead of 'prestigious dish' or 'reputable choice,' and 'non veggies and veggies puplis' which is informal and slightly confusing. Spelling errors, such as 'panner' (paneer) and 'puplis' (people), occur throughout the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to food and events, and ensure you are using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('this is feel expensive'), incorrect verb tenses ('we will making'), and missing articles ('is vegetarian dish'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences starting with lowercase letters or lacking proper capitalization for proper nouns like 'i'. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar rules significantly affects the clarity of your writing. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will help improve your score.
