Dear Luis,

Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is often argued by some people that this advance technology will eventually replace educators in the learning institutes in the future. Although artificial intelligence is reliable and convenient, I completely disagree with this statement since teachers plays an important role in the physical or mental development of children.

On the one hand, as per some individuals, digital devices will be considered beneficial for the scholars rather than teachers. Firstly, these are portable and time-efficient. To elaborate, it is easy to access information on these devices anytime since they are lightweight and easy to be carried around. Moreover, one device contains a huge amount of information. Therefore, learning from this type of technology is more convenient that it could replace tutors' job in the future.

On the other hand, why teachers' are far more important than artificial intelligence in the schools? Teachers always provides a best support to their students either they are weak or strong ones. The emotional support from tutor assists children to overcome their stress and builds up a courage to grow in the world . Also, their encouragement and discipline teach them to how to be a respectful person in society. Thus, learning from humans' is more fruitful instead of learning from a AI.

To conclude, eventhough advance technology has some benefits such as conveniency; however it is not possible to replace teachers with this, since in this growing world the developing technology cannot teach human emotions and provide support to the students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 1.0

The response is completely off-topic. The task required writing a letter to an event organiser named Luis regarding a food celebration event, including an offer to cook a dish, a description of the dish, and a justification for its inclusion. Instead, the student wrote an essay about whether artificial intelligence will replace teachers. Because the response fails to address any part of the prompt, it cannot be assessed for task achievement in the context of the specific instructions provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

Although the response is off-topic, it is structured like an essay with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a logical progression of ideas within the essay format, and cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used to link sentences. However, the paragraphing is not appropriate for a letter format, and the lack of relevance to the task makes the overall coherence ineffective for the intended purpose.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for a general discussion, using terms like 'artificial intelligence', 'convenient', 'development', and 'fruitful'. There are some inaccuracies, such as 'learning institutes' instead of 'educational institutions' and 'conveniency' instead of 'convenience'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to express the ideas presented in the essay, it is not tailored to the specific task requirements, and the word choice is somewhat repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Although artificial intelligence is reliable and convenient, I completely disagree...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('teachers plays', 'teachers' are', 'teachers always provides') and incorrect article usage ('a AI'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of commas and apostrophes. These errors are noticeable but do not entirely impede the reader's understanding of the essay's content.
