You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

Dear Luis,

I am writing this letter regarding the upcoming Food Festival event that is being organised by our club. Being a member of this club, I would love to participate in the event by making one of the famous dishes of my country India.

As I was born in the south part of India, the staple breakfast of my state is Idli which is served with the authentic coconut chutney. It is my favourite dish since childhood and I would greatly appreciate the chance to cook it for everyone to try.

In addition to this, we traditionally serve it on big banana leaves rather than on plates. I believe it would be a great opportunity for me to express my culture through this event. Moreover, the banana leaves are not something that you can find everywhere. Luckily, I found an Indian store near my place that sells it. Therefore, it will be a great marketing strategy and a very unique thing to represent during our event and would result in attracting more people to visit and get to know more about our student group.
