Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
You have addressed all three bullet points: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining why it should be included. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which significantly impacts the development of your ideas. The description of the dish is quite brief, and the explanation for its inclusion lacks depth. To improve, you should expand on the cultural significance of the dish or the specific flavors to better engage the reader. Because the response is under-length, it does not fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link your ideas; for example, the transition between describing the dish and explaining why it should be included is abrupt. The use of 'well' as a filler at the start of sentences is informal and repetitive, which hinders the logical progression of your argument. To improve, use a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in addition' to connect your thoughts more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'tasty' or 'taste' in ways that are grammatically incorrect (e.g., 'everyone can tasty it'). There are also spelling errors, such as 'Nihri' (likely Nihari) and 'Orion' (likely onion). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express your ideas with precision. To improve, focus on learning specific culinary terms and adjectives to describe food, and ensure you are using the correct word forms (e.g., 'taste' as a verb vs. 'tasty' as an adjective).
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The letter contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and comma splices (e.g., '...red chill, black chill, Orion. well, I believe...'). You also struggle with subject-verb agreement and word forms, such as 'I would like to do the popular dish' instead of 'I would like to prepare a popular dish.' The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms.
