Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: offering a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organizer. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the ingredients of 'Dal Bati Churma', the description is slightly confusing, particularly the explanation of 'Churma'. To improve, ensure your explanations are clear enough for someone unfamiliar with the dish to visualize it. You have successfully maintained a consistent purpose throughout the letter, which meets the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Since', 'Basically', and 'It should be included because'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the transition between the description of the dish and the reason for its inclusion could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are slightly repetitive. Overall, the organization is coherent, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, justifying a Band 6.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'culturally rich', 'cuisine', and 'nutrients'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'reach' instead of 'rich', 'recepie' instead of 'recipe', and 'sincerly' instead of 'sincerely'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using less common vocabulary more accurately and proofreading for common spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Since I love this cuisine, and I know the special recipe...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in event', 'in form of'), incorrect preposition usage, and subject-verb agreement issues ('my mother should be proud' instead of 'would be proud'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. Increasing your control over articles and verb tenses will help improve your score in this criterion.
