Dear Luis,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing this letter for a suggestion that we should include one dish from Hyderabad, India, Which is Hyderabadi biryani.
People called it Hyderabadi biryani because of it started in Hyderabad. This biryani is most popular in all the other regions as well nowadays. It is known for its spiciness. If we include this specific dish, I feel that people from different nationalities will also life this verity. We may offer Hyderabadi biryani for vegetarians as well as for non vegetarians. This dish will create a different image of my country so I request to include it in event.
I hope you will include it and understand my point of view.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses the task well by offering a dish (Hyderabadi biryani) and providing some explanation about it. However, the justification for including this dish in the event could be stronger and more developed. Phrases like "People called it Hyderabadi biryani because of it started in Hyderabad" show a lack of depth in reasoning. Overall, the letter fulfills the task requirements but could benefit from more detail and persuasion, leading to a score of 6 for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter has a basic structure, with an appropriate greeting and closing. However, coherence lacks as some sentences do not flow logically, and there are punctuation errors, such as in "which is Hyderabadi biryani" (capitalization and punctuation mistake). Additionally, transitions between ideas can be improved, for instance, between the description of the dish and its significance. Due to these issues, coherence and cohesion are evaluated at a band 6 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used in the response is adequate but often simplistic. The phrase "most popular in all the other regions as well nowadays" could be enhanced with words like "widely celebrated". The use of "life this verity" demonstrates a misunderstanding of the vocabulary, hurting clarity. Despite this, a clear cultural reference is made with "Hyderabadi biryani", showing some lexical awareness, which brings the score to a band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
Grammatical accuracy is inconsistent, with errors affecting communication. For example, "it started in Hyderabad" should read "it originated in Hyderabad." There are also issues with subject-verb agreement, such as in "people from different nationalities will also life this verity," where "life" should be "like." Despite these flaws, the overall meaning is conveyed clearly, warranting a band score of 6 for grammatical range and accuracy.
Overall feedback
Your letter successfully addresses the prompt by offering a tasty dish from your country and sharing some of its characteristics. However, try to enhance your arguments for why it should be included in the event; perhaps elaborate on the cultural significance or popularity of the dish among international audiences. Additionally, improving your sentence structure and linking ideas more effectively will increase coherence. Work on exchanging simpler words for more precise vocabulary. Overall, there’s a solid foundation here; focus on expanding ideas and polishing grammar for improvement.
