Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the task. While you have addressed the requirement to offer a dish and describe it, the explanation of why it should be included is underdeveloped. The letter is cut off abruptly, meaning the final bullet point is not fully explored, and the closing is missing. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with sufficient detail and that the letter is completed with a formal sign-off.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter lacks a clear structure and logical progression. The paragraphing is insufficient, and the transition between the introduction and the body of the letter is abrupt. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas together, making the flow feel disjointed. For example, the jump from discussing your role in the club to the event theme is sudden. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'have been participated always warm heartedly' and 'have been proved my unique role'. These phrases are unnatural and indicate a need for better control over verb forms and adverb usage. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise adjectives to describe the food and the event, rather than relying on basic descriptors like 'colourful' or 'delicious'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'from a reliable resources' (incorrect article/plural usage), 'have been participated' (incorrect passive voice), and 'have been proved my unique role' (incorrect tense and voice). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the errors in verb tense and subject-verb agreement are noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic active and passive voice constructions and proofreading for subject-verb agreement errors. Increasing the variety of sentence structures will also help improve your score.
