Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a club organizer. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the dish is quite basic, and the explanation for why it should be included relies on general statements like 'lots of flavours' rather than specific cultural or social reasons. To improve, try to elaborate more on the significance of the dish or the specific experience you hope to provide for the other students.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'not only... but also' and 'in addition'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the transition between the description of the dish and the reason for its inclusion feels abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would improve the overall logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey your meaning, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. For example, you use the word 'dish' multiple times in close proximity. There are also some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'cuisnies' (cuisines), 'ocassions' (occasions), and 'aslo' (also). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'in my country people like sweets'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this dish not only prepare'), and punctuation. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'Only one reason that I want to include this dish...'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
