Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all three bullet points, but the development is uneven. While you offer to help and suggest general ideas, you failed to actually describe a specific dish from your country as requested. The prompt explicitly asks you to 'describe what this dish is', but you only provided a list of international cuisines. Consequently, the task is only partially fulfilled. To improve, ensure you focus on the specific details requested in the prompt, such as naming a dish (e.g., 'Biryani') and describing its ingredients or preparation method. This would demonstrate a more complete engagement with the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into clear paragraphs, which is appropriate for a formal letter. There is a logical progression from the opening to the suggestions and the offer of help. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Beside this' and 'I am very happy because of you taking time'. While the message is easy to follow, the transitions between ideas could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'preparations', 'contributing', and 'memorable experience'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'offer my assist' (should be 'assistance'), 'different culture food' (should be 'food from different cultures'), and 'tags of food name' (should be 'labels'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Focusing on learning common collocations will help you express your ideas more naturally and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions. Examples include 'I would suggest you to including' (should be 'suggest including'), 'organized by the student club' (should be 'being organized'), and 'in the organizing the event' (should be 'in organizing the event'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to limit your score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct usage of gerunds and infinitives to improve your accuracy.
