Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You offered to make Chicken Karahi, described it as a famous local cuisine, and explained its cultural significance for the event. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an organizer. However, the development of your ideas is slightly repetitive, particularly regarding the 'reasons' for inclusion. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanation of why the dish should be included focuses more on the specific appeal of the food itself rather than general career opportunities, which are less relevant to a food festival context.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the purpose of the letter to the description of the dish and finally the justification for its inclusion. Paragraphing is present, though the body of the letter could be better divided into distinct paragraphs for each bullet point to improve readability. You use some cohesive devices like 'In my opinion' and 'As people from all over the world', but the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words would help the text feel more natural and cohesive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accolades', 'traditions', and 'cuisine'. However, there are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'special purpose of requesting you to give me the permission', which is slightly wordy and unnatural. A more concise phrasing would be 'I am writing to request permission'. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly, incorporating more precise adjectives to describe the food or the event would elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'If I win this competition, it will open doors...'. There are some punctuation errors, specifically missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'well.I', 'country.It'). Additionally, there are minor grammatical slips, such as 'open doors of success in future', which should be 'in the future'. Despite these errors, your meaning is always clear, and the grammar does not impede communication. To improve, focus on consistent spacing and the correct use of articles.
