You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Luis,

I am writing regarding the international student's club event which is going to take place this weekend. I would like to suggest to introduce one of the popular Indian cuisine.

The dish I wanted to request for the event is known as Biryani. This dish is made in almost every part of India however this dish is mainly originated in Southern parts of the country.

Let me describe the dish in detail, this a non-vegetarian food which can either be prepared with meat or chicken. The Chicken biryani is specifically made with chicken, Indian spices and and lots rice. This food is not only delicious but also has aroma, different texture and most importantly it has the ability to boost immunity since there are plethora of spices in it.

The reason I wanted it to introduce to other students in the event in order to represent our culture and taste. It is a good opportunity in the event to showcase this traditional food because this way students will remember and share it's experience to others.
