Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You offered to prepare biryani, described its ingredients and preparation, and explained why it is a suitable addition to the event. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an event organiser. To improve, ensure you expand slightly more on the 'why' section; for instance, you could mention how the dish represents cultural diversity or brings people together, which would add more depth to your ideas. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'It is', which help the flow of information. However, the transition between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and some referencing is slightly unclear (e.g., 'the main reason to included it'). To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns to improve the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'participate', 'enhance', and 'mouthwatering'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'enhance flyover' (likely meant 'flavor') and 'most important think' (meant 'thing'). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for small spelling or word-choice slips. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise descriptive adjectives would also help elevate your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('It is famous dish'), verb forms ('It makes with rice'), and sentence construction ('I want to people taste it'). These errors are noticeable and sometimes impede the flow of the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Practicing complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, will also help you demonstrate better control and range in your grammar.
