You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Student answer (Band 7.5)

Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing concerning the recent food event in our college. If you have any empty stalls, I would love to prepare a popular sweet dish from India.

Our college's student community is significantly diverse and we have food items from different parts of the world. I have noticed that most of the cuisines are spicy or tangy such as pizza, pasta, and butter chicken. Although we have so many Indian food stalls, surprisingly none of them are offering a sweet dish.

So, I would like to offer something, that we can enjoy after trying all the spicy cuisines from the event and I came up with the idea of 'Rasmalai'. This dish originates from North India and is prepared with sugar, condensed milk and whole wheat flour. It is slightly sweet in taste and smooth in texture. It almost takes 12 hours of preparation to make it perfectly. At the end, we can also add some dry fruits to enhance the taste.
