You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Organizer,

I am writing to formally thank you for inviting me to participate in the event at Seneca College on 28 January.

To begin with, Marwari food is a delicacy in itself and enjoyed by huge population in India. Especially in Rajasthan, it is prepared on traditional style of oven. As a result, I would prepare a dish called Red lamb.

In addition to this, Red lamb was originally found in the Afghan community. It was mainly considered as a Royal delicacy, as lamb was expensive for common people. It was usually prepared on the auspicious days in the culture.

In light of this, I do believe this would be loved by most of the students. Also, students would get an opportunity to learn about history and methods of cooking it. Moreover, everyone should be informed about the deep rooted impact of the dish which segregated rich and poor.
