IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

I am writing to request participation in the upcoming event in which we are celebrating popular international food.

Given a chance, I would like to prepare a dish from my country which is liked world-wide. The dish is called butter chicken, and is gaining popularity around the world from last few years. It has a creamy gravy made by grinding together multiple ingredients with butter. After the puree is made fried chicken is added to it. It is then served with Indian bread, which is also called Naan.

Butter chicken with naan should be added to this event because it is highly rated dish from Indian cuisine and is well known around the globe. Everyone is well aware of this kind of food and they will be attracted to the event once they know this dish is available.
