Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address the core instructions of the task. You were asked to offer to make a dish yourself, describe that specific dish, and explain why it should be included. Instead, you wrote a letter asking Luis to make a dish and explaining why he should do so. By misinterpreting the prompt, you have not fulfilled the primary requirements of the task. While you mention the event, the content does not align with the persona or the specific actions requested in the prompt. To improve, ensure you carefully read the instructions to identify exactly what you are required to do as the writer.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the logical progression is hindered by the misunderstanding of the task. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is somewhat abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Being the member of this group' and 'After watching you', the connection between ideas is often weak or confusing due to the misinterpretation of the prompt. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended purpose of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You use phrases like 'famous food' and 'popular cuisine' which are appropriate, but the range is limited. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'bring an offer to the table' in this context, which sounds unnatural. You also struggle with word choice, such as 'cuisine part' and 'got motivation', which indicates a limited control over more sophisticated or precise language. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of descriptive adjectives and more natural collocations related to food and events.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'I'm Lily, the member of International student club' lacks articles. The sentence 'The dish which you think , that this is one of the best dish of your country' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. You also have issues with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'This cuisine part should be include' and 'that will going to generate'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring correct article and verb usage before attempting more complex forms.
