IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

I am writing you to add a special dish in your menu for upcoming event from my native place. What I really want you to add to the menu is a sweet dish which is called Gulab Jamun, although you have many other sweet dishes in your list.

Gulab Jamun is one of the famous sweet dishes in India. I hope you know the recipe of the same. It made out of from flour and sugar. I checked the list of dishes and found that there are no dessert added to the menu. I believe, if you will add this to the event's menu, everyone would love it.

Should you be available this week, I would really appreciate if you could share your availability so that I can share the recipe. This will help you to follow the traditional way of making this dish.

I hope you will consider my suggestion and get back to me as per your convenience. I will be looking forward to hearing back from you.
