Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all three bullet points, but the content is confusing and contradictory. You were asked to offer to make a dish from your own country, but the letter suggests you are asking Luis to make dishes from his country (Hyderabadi biryani) for VIP guests. This misinterpretation of the prompt significantly impacts the task achievement. While you mention the dish and why it should be included, the logic is flawed because you are asking the organizer to prepare the food rather than offering to prepare it yourself as requested. To improve, ensure you carefully read the instructions to understand your role in the scenario.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is divided into paragraphs, which is good, but the logical flow is weak. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. Some cohesive devices are used, such as 'moreover' and 'hence', but they are often used incorrectly or in contexts that do not make sense, such as 'So that, we want to offer...'. The referencing is also unclear, particularly when you switch between 'your country' and 'our event'. The overall structure is present, but the progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by confusing phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation. Phrases like 'without any disturb taste' and 'deligate people' are unnatural and impede clarity. You attempt to use some descriptive language ('world renowned', 'all time favorite'), but these are often used in ways that do not fit the formal tone of a letter. There are also spelling errors such as 'Interntaional', 'Atually', 'Fortunatly', and 'gratefull'. To reach a higher band, focus on using standard collocations and proofreading for basic spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include 'I formally requesting a letter regarding, am an International students club member' and 'If you could organise these total menu'. Sentence structures are often fragmented or incorrectly constructed. There is a lack of control over basic verb tenses and subject-verb agreement. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. More attention to basic sentence construction and proofreading for grammatical consistency is required.
