Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its significance. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'kouskous' and its characteristics, the explanation of why it should be included is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on national identity without exploring other potential benefits for the event, such as cultural exchange or variety. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more detail and specific reasoning. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to an event organizer, though the structure could be more formal.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition 'First of all' is used, but other parts of the letter lack smooth logical flow between sentences. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between being a club member and offering a dish could be more explicitly linked. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message, but it is quite limited and contains several spelling errors (e.g., 'intresting', 'coutry', 'membre', 'offre', 'spacy', 'opprtunity', 'religeon', 'ofcours', 'synbolise'). These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use some descriptive language like 'tasty' and 'delicious', the range is narrow. To improve, you should focus on accurate spelling and attempt to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to food and cultural representation to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('am intresting to added'), missing articles ('a member from this club'), and punctuation errors, such as the inconsistent use of capitalization and sentence fragments. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction hinder the flow of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy significantly.
