Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The description of the dish is quite brief, and the explanation for its inclusion is repetitive. To improve, you should expand on the sensory details of the dish and provide more specific reasons why it would be a highlight for an international event. Because the length requirement was not met, the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. However, the paragraphing is somewhat fragmented, with several very short, one-sentence paragraphs. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'this' to start sentences. To improve, try to combine related ideas into more cohesive paragraphs and use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to') to create a smoother flow between your sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and sophistication. You rely on basic descriptors like 'famous' and 'healthy' multiple times. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'take a part' instead of 'take part' and 'well-known food' which could be expressed more naturally as 'a traditional dish'. To reach a higher band, aim to incorporate more specific culinary terminology and avoid repeating the same adjectives. Using more precise collocations will help make your writing sound more natural and engaging.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'I would to like to offer' (incorrect verb form), 'as now a days' (incorrect phrasing), and 'Your faithfully' (incorrect closing). Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as the comma splice in 'healthy meals, So definitely'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and standard letter-writing conventions to improve your accuracy.
