IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am the member of an international club and my name is Sweta. I hear about upcoming event, where food from different country are being presented. I would i like to suggest you on popular dish from India.

The dish i want you to make is usually eat in festival, or whenever we have any celebration in India. I would like you make sweet disha which is Gulab Jamun. I would say that this is quit famous in canada too nowdays. Because it similar to Tim Bits.

It is made from cottage chees, milk and sugar syrup. it very easy to make and gets ready in an hour. the process is to mix the cottage cheese and milk suger and if you want you put any flavours with it. Then deep fry it and deep in to the suger syrup.

The most vital part to include this dish in to the event would be people understand the dish. and it is budget freindly dish.
