Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its suitability for the event. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an acquaintance. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the components of the dish, such as 'rice, lentils, vegetable curries', the description could be more vivid to truly engage the reader. Additionally, the explanation for why it should be included is a bit repetitive, focusing primarily on it being vegetarian. To improve, try to elaborate more on the cultural significance or the unique flavors of the dish to make your proposal more persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. You use paragraphing to separate your ideas, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'not only this, it also contain' is a bit clunky, and the transition 'so, which will be best' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally to connect your sentences and ideas, ensuring that the progression between paragraphs is smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'starter', 'full course meal', and 'vegetarian'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'fue' instead of 'few' and 'test' instead of 'taste'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, relying on basic descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more precise adjectives to describe the food and use a broader range of vocabulary to express your enthusiasm for the event, avoiding simple, repetitive sentence structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it also contain'), punctuation errors (unnecessary commas after 'includes' and 'dish'), and awkward phrasing ('if i talk specifically about the the food'). Furthermore, there are issues with capitalization and sentence fragments, such as 'so, which will be best for everyone.' To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and proper sentence construction, and ensure that your punctuation does not break the flow of your sentences.
