You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

Dear luis,

I am writing to offer to make a meal for the international students food festival. I am delighted to make chicken biriyani which is a very popular dish in my country Pakistan.

Chicken biriyani is prepared with fragrant rice, chicken, yogurt and aromatic spices. It is prepared layer by layer in a closed pot. However, there are many ways to make it based on region by region. It comes with the side of raita and green salad. I am happy to cook it in large portions for the event.

I believe it should be included in the menu for the festival as well because this biryani is an emotion for many international people as it is associated with family traditions and gatherings. Moreover, beach of it’s aromas visitors and participants from different cultures will be attracted to try out the food which will be memorable for them.
