IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Luis,

I am writing to introduce you a famous dish from my home country. Being a member of this club I would request you to add this in your food event.

As this event will have all famous food items from every country. Like wise I want to add one dish from my origin. That is a well known dish because Pakistani people are everywhere in the world.

Moreover, the name of dish is "Bariyanni" we cook it with rice and chicken mainly. It is super spicy whereas some people make it less spicy according to their need.

Given that, as chicken and rice is well known in every nation, I would like to introduce the way how we make it delicious. Plus people will taste it and rate it. This dish will represent my country. My country's flag will be there which makes me proud. On top of that I hope that people will love it.
