Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: offering to make a dish, describing it, and explaining its inclusion. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of 'veg biriyani' is quite basic, and the explanation for why it should be included is repetitive, focusing primarily on the fact that other countries' foods are included. To reach a higher band, you should provide more descriptive detail about the dish's flavors or cultural significance and offer a more compelling reason for its inclusion, such as its popularity or suitability for a diverse group of students.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and repetitive. You frequently start sentences with 'In this event' or 'The food is', which makes the flow feel a bit stilted. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', 'In addition to this') to connect your ideas more fluidly and improve the overall progression of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'prepare Indian food dish into this event' and 'the food is eat with any kind of sources'. The word 'sources' is likely a misuse of 'sauces'. You rely heavily on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To improve, focus on learning specific phrases related to cooking and event planning, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling, such as 'up coming' (upcoming) and 'inter national' (international).

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I am from a India', 'their are different types of food is famous', and 'many student from different part'. These errors involve subject-verb agreement, article usage, and pluralisation. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles ('a', 'an', 'the'). Proofreading for these common errors will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
