Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt, though the development is somewhat uneven. You successfully offered to make popular dishes and described them (such as mango shake and paratha), and you explained why they should be included in the menu, focusing on health benefits and digestion. However, your opening sentence contains a slight misunderstanding of the context, stating 'I am writing this letter to inform you that the club is organizing an event,' rather than pitching your own contribution to the organiser Luis. The explanation of why the dishes should be included becomes slightly repetitive and tangential regarding blood pressure. Overall, the requirements of the task are met, placing this performance at a Band 5.5 to 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter has a basic logical progression and attempts to sequence ideas using cohesive markers like 'Firstly,' 'Furthermore,' and 'At last.' However, paragraphing is inconsistent and some sentences are clumsily linked. For instance, transitioning from food distribution directly into health benefits and blood pressure feels abrupt and lacks smooth cohesive tying. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'those are very popular .we like to offer special dishes of my country,' where punctuation and pronoun reference need tighter control. Overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow, but cohesion is mechanical, reflecting a Band 6.0 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, successfully communicating everyday food items like 'mango shake' and 'paratha' and general descriptors like 'delicious' and 'natural herbs.' However, there are notable limitations and word-choice errors, such as 'diverse kind of dishes' (instead of kinds/types) and 'it makes with natural herbs' (should be 'it is made with'). The range of vocabulary is rather basic and repetitive. While you attempt some less common terms like 'digest' and 'beneficial,' inaccuracies in collocation keep this within the Band 5.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. You make frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'there are diverse kind of dishes... those are very popular,' 'it makes with natural herbs,' and 'that can help the participants make body healthy.' Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, notably the run-on structure in 'These are very delicious, and everyone will like the taste of all the dishes so, I would like to include these dishes.' These frequent non-systematic errors which occasionally strain comprehension align closely with a Band 5.0.
