IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Luis,

Hope you are doing well. I Angad Singh member of International Student Council is writting to you this letter, requesting the addition of a famous dish from my country in the event.

There are many popular dishes form India, but the most loved one is butter chicken. The thing that makes it different is the gravy, it is not an ordinary gravy there are a lot of spices added to give it a rich flavour, and is then cooked with on low flame with cream and butter added to it.

Moreover,chicken is carefully marinated and cut in pieces which is then added to the gravy and left to cook for several minutes. This butter chicken was first invented at a restaurant in Delhi after which it got a global recognition. Today we see many restaurants, not only in India but also globally have added this dish to their menu. But they still do no taste the same as the orignal invention.

I know the owner of the restaurant and I have requested him to display this dish in the event, so people know what an authentic butter chicken looks like. I hope you take into consideration my request for the same.
