You are a member of an International Students' club. The club is organising an event to celebrate popular food from around the world.

Write a letter to the event organiser, Luis. In your letter

• offer to make a popular dish from your country
• describe what this dish is
• explain why it should be included in the event

Dear Luis,

I hope this letter finds you fit as a fiddle. My name is Noor, I am a Pakistani student and a member of International Student's club. I got to know that you are the event organiser for our International food carnival.

I am writing to express my interest in participating in the event to represent my country's traditional food. I would like to make Chicken Biryani for the event, as it is one of the most popular dishes back home. Not only is it a famous food item in my country, but it is also everyone's favourite.

Biryani is a divine combination of plain boiled rice and chicken gravy layered upon each other, one by one in a pot. It has all the rich spices which enhance its flavour and make it even more delicious. It is usually served with a mint sauce or plain yogurt.

I believe that it should be included in the event because it truly represents the taste of our local food. And I promise you that it will be a hit. I am sure that everyone would enjoy having it.
