Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you offer an Indian dish, describe its ingredients and how it is eaten, and explain its cultural value. The specific choice of Paneer Tikka Masala with garlic bread makes the offer concrete, while the reference to Indian spices and helping attendees learn about Indian culture supports its inclusion. Your purpose remains clear throughout. Some support is broad, however: saying that “mostly every food” from India is famous does not add much to the case, and the dish’s popularity or appeal to event guests could be explained more specifically. A more focused explanation of why this particular dish represents your country would make the ideas more fully developed and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from an opening, to the dish and its ingredients, to reasons for including it, and finally to a closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Besides this” show an effort to connect ideas. However, several transitions feel mechanical or do not express a clear relationship, and the opening spends time repeating the event’s purpose before making your offer. The final sentence is also difficult to follow, which weakens the closing. Use fewer, more precise connectors and make each paragraph advance the letter’s purpose; for example, move directly from acknowledging the event to offering the dish.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “authentic,” “ground spices,” “rich flavour,” and “culture,” and the reader can understand the main message. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, such as “polpular,” “arouma,” “coatted,” and “famous food dishes.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly repeated references to “popular” food and countries “around the globe.” These issues limit the precision and naturalness of the vocabulary, even though they do not prevent understanding. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations—for example, “traditional dishes from different countries”—to express your ideas more fluently and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “the country I belong to which is India” and a reason clause beginning “because.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “It is great idea … that to bring” has an incorrect article and clause pattern, while “I think that ypou should that this into consideration, I you need…” contains several structural problems that obscure the intended meaning. There are also missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate sentence patterns for offers and requests, and proofread punctuation and clause boundaries.
