Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you offer to prepare kadhi paneer, describe its spicy flavour and vegetarian nature, and explain its relevance to Indian students and international visitors. The dish is identifiable, and the reasons for including it are relevant. The response also has an appropriate letter format and a clear request for permission. To make the response more fully developed, explain the dish itself more clearly—for example, what its main ingredients are or how it is served. The claims that it is among the world’s top-selling dishes are repeated and unsupported, so a specific, credible reason, such as its popularity in Indian homes or its distinctive taste, would strengthen your case. The main task is covered, but some details remain unclear or insufficiently supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter follows a broadly sensible order: you introduce your offer, describe the dish, give reasons for including it, and close with a request. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages. However, progression within the reasons is limited: the statements about the dish being a top-five seller appear twice, and the connection between the college’s Indian students and the event’s international audience could be made clearer. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” are used, but the ideas they connect are repetitive rather than advancing the argument. Organise the body into a description paragraph and a separate paragraph explaining the dish’s appeal, using clear references and avoiding repeated claims. This would make the overall organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “vegetarian,” “masala,” “spicy,” and “favorable,” and the reader can understand the general message. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “restaurant food menu item.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “appreciate your efforts towards organizing food event,” “show case a cuisine,” and “everyday eatry diet.” The spelling and form “panner” also makes the dish name less clear; use “paneer.” Aim for natural phrases such as “congratulate you on organising the event,” “present a popular dish,” and “a regular part of many people’s diet.” More precise, natural collocations would improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the sentence beginning “Furthermore,” and the relative clause “that makes it most favorable.” The main meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “As a international student and member of club” needs appropriate articles, while “visitor will love it” requires a plural or an article. In “it comes among the top 5 dishes sells,” the verb pattern is faulty; a clearer construction would be “it is among the five best-selling dishes.” There are also agreement and sentence-structure problems in “most of it” and “that makes it.” Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and verb forms, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas. These corrections would make your varied sentences more reliable.
