Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three main points: you offer butter chicken, identify it as a popular Indian dish, and give reasons for including it, such as its popularity and quick preparation. The reader can understand your basic proposal. However, the description is thin: “It is very delicious” and “we can add some spices” do not explain what the dish contains or how it is typically served. Some reasons are also unclear or weakly connected to the event, particularly “it is in my bucket list” and “its very freshy look.” Develop the dish description and explain more specifically how it would introduce guests to your country’s food culture. The purpose is relevant, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce your proposal, describe the dish, give reasons, and finish with a request. Basic linking words such as “Moreover” and “I believe” help show relationships between some ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear because the opening repeats the request in two consecutive sentences, and several short statements (“It is very delicious dish. it is in my bucket list.”) are placed together without a clear connection. The paragraphing also does little to separate the letter’s purposes. Organise the content into clear sections—offer and description, then reasons—and use references such as “This dish” to connect ideas without repeating the same point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the basic idea, including “popular dish,” “spices,” “menu,” and “event.” The name “butter chicken” also makes the proposal specific. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “famous for it taste,” “cheap in price,” “freshy look,” and “get me back soon.” These expressions may make the reader pause or misunderstand your intended meaning. Aim for more precise food vocabulary and natural phrases—for example, describe the dish as a creamy, spiced chicken curry and say that it is affordable to prepare. Check spelling and word forms, including “recommended” where “recommend” is needed.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple structures, and the main message is generally understandable. There is an attempt to connect ideas with “Moreover” and “I believe,” but sentence patterns remain limited, and errors occur frequently. Examples include the missing preposition in “I am writing this letter you,” missing articles in “It is very delicious dish,” and incomplete sentence structure in “The dish name is butter chicken and very famous.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “it is” after a full stop and “i highly recommended.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to interpret the message. Practise complete sentences, article use, subject–verb structure, and consistent capital letters and punctuation.
