Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you offer to prepare kheer, describe its ingredients, and explain that you want to promote your country’s food. The dish is relevantly identified as rice, milk and sugar, and you mention its place at festivals and its appeal across religions. However, the explanation of why it belongs at the event is less developed: “I want to promote my country food” gives a reason, but you could explain what visitors would learn or enjoy. The offer could also be more direct and practical, for example by saying you are willing to cook and bring it. The response is five words below the required minimum, so add a little relevant detail to meet the task requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the event, name and describe the dish, give a reason for including it, and close politely. Paragraphing helps separate the description from your request. Some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear, however. “Moreover” does not introduce a clearly additional reason, and the opening sentence says you are writing “to inform” Luis, although the purpose is to offer to contribute. The event date and the dish description also sit together without a smooth transition. Use clearer progression, such as moving from your offer to the ingredients and then to the dish’s cultural significance, with linking phrases that show those relationships.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main message, with relevant terms such as “popular dish,” “festivals,” and “promote.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “prepare a food,” “popular food from all over the world,” and “every religion people.” These choices make parts of the letter less fluent, even though the reader can understand your meaning. Aim for more precise food and cultural vocabulary, and check common collocations. For example, describe kheer as a traditional dessert and explain that it is enjoyed by people from different religious backgrounds. This would make the description more natural and informative.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate the main ideas using mostly simple sentence patterns, and the meaning is generally recoverable. There are some errors in verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence construction. For example, “the club organise” needs a correctly formed verb, while “This dish is enjoy” needs a passive form such as “is enjoyed.” The phrase “I want to add popular dish” is missing an article, and “every religion people” does not form a correct noun phrase. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, particularly “sunday” and “i.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add a few controlled complex structures to explain the dish’s ingredients and cultural importance.
