Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you offer to prepare rice pudding, describe its ingredients and taste, and explain that it represents your culture and is enjoyed on special occasions. These details make the proposal relevant, and the request to include it is clear. However, the explanation of why it belongs at this particular event is less developed: the general comment that international guests will learn about different cultures does not show specifically what they would learn from this dish. The opening also says you are expressing “concern,” which does not match your enthusiastic offer. Develop the cultural significance with a concrete detail, such as when it is served or how it is traditionally shared, and make the purpose of the letter clear from the start.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the offer to a description, then to the event’s purpose and a closing request. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and phrases such as “As a matter of fact” and “As we know” signal transitions. However, some links feel mechanical or do not clearly connect the ideas: the sentence about all international people learning about dishes is broad and does not directly explain the value of rice pudding. The first paragraph also combines the event context and your offer without a smooth connection, while spacing after full stops is inconsistent. Use more direct transitions and make each paragraph build on the previous one—for example, connect the dish’s role in family celebrations to the cultural exchange at the event.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the letter and attempt some less common vocabulary, including “scrumptious,” “multifarious,” and “tradition.” The reader can understand the main message, and the food description is relevant. Some choices, however, are inaccurate or unnatural in context: “expressing my concern” suggests a problem rather than an offer, “multifarious dishes” sounds overly formal, and “share the popularity” does not clearly express what you want to share. There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “occassions,” “peple,” and “releted,” which reduce precision. Choose vocabulary that is both accurate and natural for a friendly letter, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and more developed structures, including “I would appreciate it if you could include…” and the clause beginning “When it comes to…”. The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “one of the best and popular dish” needs a plural noun and parallel form, while “It is very scrumptious dish” is missing an article. In “which represent my cultures and tradition,” the verb does not agree with “dish,” and the singular/plural forms are inconsistent. Capitalisation after commas and sentence boundaries also needs attention. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural forms, then proofread punctuation; these corrections would make your varied sentence patterns more controlled.
