Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you offer to prepare a dish from India, identify it as vegetable pulao, and explain that it is nutritious, mild, and suitable for children and older guests. These details make the letter relevant, but the description of the dish and the case for including it are not fully developed. For example, you could explain how the rice and vegetables are cooked or why the dish represents your country’s food culture. The request for a positive response is clear, although the letter would benefit from a more complete, appropriately formal closing. The response is also five words below the required minimum, so add a little relevant detail to meet the task requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The ideas follow a generally sensible order: you introduce the event, offer a dish, describe it, and give reasons for including it. Linking expressions such as “moreover,” “additionally,” and “so” help show how the points relate, and the reader can follow your main message. To make the progression more polished, separate the introduction, dish description, and reasons into clear paragraphs rather than presenting most of the content as one block. Some links feel mechanical, and the transition from the event introduction to your offer could be smoother. Clearer punctuation and sentence boundaries would also help the letter read more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “popular food event,” “variety of vegetables,” “nutritious,” and “less spicy,” so the main meaning is generally understandable. There is also an attempt to use more formal language in “humbly request” and “thanks for your consideration.” However, spelling errors and imprecise word choices are noticeable, including “organs ing,” “cusine,” “benefincical,” and “favourable rice.” These reduce accuracy and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Choose familiar words you can spell reliably, and use precise food vocabulary—for example, explain that pulao is rice cooked with vegetables and seasonings. Proofreading would improve control without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your letter communicates its main points, and you attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, such as the explanation beginning “the main advantage of including this cuisine.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and some sentences contain errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “that is organsing by our students club” needs a correctly formed passive construction, while “our club going to conduct” is missing an auxiliary verb. The sentence beginning “because the ingredient…” is also not complete as written. Use a mix of accurate simple sentences and carefully built complex sentences, and check capitalization and punctuation, especially at sentence beginnings and after full stops.
