Dear Luis,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Mr. Luis,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing about our upcoming celebration based on popular food around the world, in which I would like to suggest to you one renowned dish from my country.

The name of the dish I would like to included is white sauce pasta, it is kind of fast processed food. It is recommended by all age groups since it has plenty of healthy ingredients in it, which makes it a health choice for everyone.

As per it's name definition, it contains rice floor and milk cream for making it creamy along with some vegetables such as cauliflower, green beans, carrot, onion whatever other veggie can be added in it according to someone taste and flavour. Additionally, the most important ingredients is protein based pasta which make it more healthy food.

My intention to include it in this event because of its benefits for health particularly people with diabities and other heath issues. It has lots of minerals and nuturitions available, and it is made with low calories ingredients which often required by more people in these kind of events. Therefore, I would really appreciate it, if you could accept my request to include this in your recipe lists. I hope you will be delighted with this ideas and I really thankful for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Bhagwant kaur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you offer white sauce pasta, describe its ingredients, and explain why you think it belongs at the event. The dish is identified clearly, and the details about pasta, cream, and vegetables make the description relevant. Your health-based reason is also stated, but claims such as its suitability for people with diabetes are not explained or supported, and the description of the dish as “fast processed food” is unclear. The request to Luis is polite and gives the letter a clear purpose. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically why this dish represents your country or would interest international guests, and develop the benefits with accurate, concrete details rather than broad health claims.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with the event and your offer, moves to the dish’s ingredients, and then gives reasons for including it before closing politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “Therefore” make the progression visible. Some connections are less smooth, however. The ingredient description is crowded into one long sentence, while “My intention to include it in this event because…” does not form a complete, clear transition into your reason. The final sentences also combine appreciation, a hope, and thanks in a slightly repetitive way. Use clearer sentence boundaries and make each paragraph focus on one main point to create more natural progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic idea, including “ingredients,” “vegetables,” “minerals,” and “include.” However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning unclear. “Fast processed food” is not a natural description, “rice floor” appears to mean “rice flour,” and “health choice” should be “healthy choice.” There are also inaccurate forms such as “nuturitions” and “diabities,” as well as awkward phrases like “recipe lists” and “according to someone taste and flavour.” These issues limit precision and make the vocabulary feel less controlled. Build accuracy with common food and event collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which makes it a health choice” and a reason introduced by “since.” The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “The name of the dish I would like to included is white sauce pasta” has an incorrect verb form and awkward sentence structure; “the most important ingredients is” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “which make it more healthy food” also needs agreement and article correction. The sentence beginning “My intention to include it…” lacks a main verb. Aim for complete, controlled sentences, and check verb forms, agreement, and articles, especially when writing longer descriptions.
