Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Luis,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing regarding the event which are going to be held on October 30,2026 in the school auditorium in which popular food from different countries will be displayed for the visitors. I am planning to dispaly a indian food stall called "Cholle Bhature.
As its name depict that this includes curry of chick peas, Bhature made up with corn flour and deep fried in canola oil served with salad and chatni. This dish is very famous in my country special in Capital city as it is a signature dish of the captial of India.
Although, this is particularly served in the morning only but demanded through out the day because it works as a proper meal instead of just a dish for taste and this is so delicious meal. It is one of the most famous indian cuisine.
Please let me know about the exact loction where we can install the setup for stall and also send me the guidelines that must be followed by the organisors for this events.Thank you for your consideration.I will see for your further updates.
Yours sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you offer to provide chole bhature, describe its components, and explain its popularity and suitability as a filling meal. The dish is identified clearly, and the detail about its association with India’s capital gives the organiser useful context. The explanation of why it belongs at the event is relevant, but it is less fully developed than the offer and description: saying it is delicious and popular could be supported with a clearer link to how it would represent your country or appeal to visitors. The request for the location and event guidelines is appropriate. To strengthen the letter further, develop the event-related reason and make the offer more definite, for example by confirming that you can prepare and serve the dish.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening explains the event and your offer, the next paragraphs describe the dish and its popularity, and the closing asks for practical information. This makes the main message easy to follow. Paragraphing is generally helpful, and phrases such as “As its name depicts” and “Although” signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression within the explanation of popularity is not always smooth: the contrast introduced by “Although” is not completed with a clear opposing idea, and the final requests and thanks run together. Use more precise links between the dish’s qualities and its value at the event, and separate the closing requests into clear sentences. These refinements would make cohesion more flexible and less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the purpose, including food terms such as “chick peas,” “deep fried,” “salad,” and “signature dish.” These details help the reader understand what you plan to serve. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “proper meal” and “visitors,” although some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “display a food stall” does not clearly express setting one up, and “demanded through out the day” is not the natural way to describe its popularity. Spelling errors such as “dispaly,” “loction,” and “organisors” are noticeable but do not prevent understanding. Aim for more accurate collocations and check spelling, especially in key descriptions and requests.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the event which are going to be held” and a contrast clause beginning “Although.” The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “the event which are” should use a singular verb, while “a indian food stall” needs an appropriate article and capitalisation. The sentence beginning “Although, this is particularly served…” is not completed with a clear contrasting clause, and the final requests are joined to “Thank you” without clear sentence boundaries. Work on subject–verb agreement, article use, and completing subordinate clauses; these changes would improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at varied structures.
