Dear Luis,
Hope everthing is going well with all the arrangements for the upcoming event.
I am writing this to suggest you one of the popluar Indian desert that you can add in the menu . The food item name is Gulab-Jamun. This is small, round in shpae, balck in colour and being made with a certain kind of flour. This is one of the delious desert item that is quiet famous all over the world.
I advise you to try adding this for your event. Please let me know if you think about it. We need 2 pieces of Gulab Jamun for 1 person. We can give order 3 days prior to the event date.
Earlier Gulab -Jamun was added in one of the world famous event and it was loved by everybody who ate.
This basically comes under sweets in our country but, can be added in desert item too.
I will be waiting for your response.
Kind regrds

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by offering Gulab Jamun, describing its appearance and ingredients in general terms, and explaining that it is popular and has been enjoyed at another event. The practical details about ordering and serving two pieces per person also make the offer relevant. However, the description is brief and not fully clear, and the reason for including the dish relies mainly on broad claims such as “famous all over the world” and “loved by everybody.” Develop these points with a clearer explanation of its taste or cultural significance, and make the benefit to the event more specific. The offer is understandable, but the supporting ideas remain limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter follows a generally recognisable order: you introduce your suggestion, describe the dish, give practical serving information, and close by asking for a response. This helps the reader understand the basic purpose. However, the ideas are presented in a series of short statements, and the progression is not always smooth. For example, the ordering details interrupt the explanation of why the dish belongs at the event, while “Earlier” introduces the previous event without enough context. Paragraphing is limited, and links such as “This basically” do not clearly connect the point to the preceding sentence. Group the description, reasons, and arrangements into distinct paragraphs and use clearer transitions to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “upcoming event,” “arrangements,” “menu,” and “pieces,” so the reader can follow the general topic. However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce clarity and polish: “popluar,” “desert” for “dessert,” “delious,” and “quiet famous.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “suggest you one of” and “food item name.” Choose more precise expressions for the dish and its qualities, and check spelling carefully. A wider range of natural food-related language—for example, describing its sweetness, texture, or syrup—would make the description more vivid and help the letter sound more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates its basic message, but it relies mostly on simple sentence patterns, with limited evidence of controlled complex structures. Several grammatical errors occur, including the missing subject in “Hope everything is going well,” the construction “suggest you one of,” and the unclear phrase “being made with a certain kind of flour.” The sentence “Earlier Gulab-Jamun was added in one of the world famous event” also has problems with article use and sentence construction. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, as seen in “menu .” and “but, can be added.” Practise forming complete sentences and combining related ideas with accurate clauses; this will improve both variety and readability.
