Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you offer to contribute chicken adobo, describe its ingredients and serving with rice, and explain that it would let others experience Filipino food and culture. These details make the letter relevant and the purpose clear. However, the reason for including the dish is only briefly developed, and the offer could be more explicit about what you will do—for example, prepare and bring a dish for attendees to sample. The response also falls one word short of the required 150 words. Add a little more explanation of the dish’s cultural significance or popularity to complete the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph describing the dish, a reason for including it, and a polite closing. This makes the message easy to follow. Some connections between ideas are less smooth, however. The sentence beginning “The chicken adobo” is a fragment, and “I would like to join and share so, other people can…” uses “so” awkwardly to connect the offer with its purpose. The repeated statements “I would like to present” and “I would like to join” also make the progression feel somewhat mechanical. Use complete sentences and clearer links, such as “I would be happy to prepare it, so that…” to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including food terms such as “vinegar,” “soy sauce,” “bay leaves,” and “steamed rice,” as well as descriptive words like “sumptuous.” The meaning is generally understandable, and the dish is described with relevant detail. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, though: “interested of joint” and “partner if this dish” do not express the intended meanings naturally, while “famous and well known” repeats the same idea. There are also spelling errors in “undertand” and “delicuous.” Choose more natural phrases such as “interested in joining” and “served with,” and proofread spelling to make your vocabulary more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and most of the message remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “I am one of the member” needs plural agreement, and “I am writing a letter that I am interested…” has an incorrect clause structure. “The chicken adobo, this dish is composed…” is a sentence fragment joined to a complete sentence with a comma. There are also errors in articles and prepositions, as in “on the top of steam rice” and “Looking forward for you assistance.” Practise forming complete sentences and checking agreement, articles, and prepositions; these changes would make the letter more controlled.
