Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three points: you offer to prepare a dish, identify it as mixed vegetables, and explain that it would represent Punjab alongside food from other countries. The list of ingredients—carrot, capsicum, peas, onion, potato and tomato—helps the reader understand what you plan to make. However, the explanation of why the dish deserves a place is brief and partly repetitive: “people from different countries” will show their dishes, and you want to show food from Punjab. Develop this reason by explaining what makes the dish distinctive or how it reflects your country’s food culture. The offer could also be stated more directly and confidently, with a clear commitment to prepare and bring it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening, a paragraph about your interest, a description of the dish, a reason for including it, and a closing. This makes the main points possible to follow. However, progression is uneven, and some ideas are repeated, such as saying both “I will make this in this event” and “when I will make it.” Linking phrases such as “Here” and “Moreover” do not always show a clear relationship between ideas. The ingredient sentence also becomes difficult to follow because the list is not punctuated clearly. Give each task point its own focused paragraph, use transitions that express the intended connection, and make references such as “it” and “this” unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic idea, including “dish,” “green vegetables,” and several ingredient names. The reader can identify the food you intend to prepare. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts less clear, including “delcisous,” “yhat,” “alot,” and “inculeded.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “in the regard of the event” and “I will lik there fingers,” which obscures your meaning. Aim to learn accurate collocations for letters and food descriptions, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for the dish’s flavour, preparation, or cultural importance would also help you explain why it is suitable for the event.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “In this dish there will be a lot of green vegetables such as…” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation. Examples include “you are going to held,” “i belongs to punjab,” and “people from different countries taking part,” where the verb patterns or sentence construction are incomplete or incorrect. The sentence beginning “when i will make it” also uses an unsuitable tense pattern. Capital letters and full stops are inconsistent, and the ingredient list runs into the next idea. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use simple past, present, and future forms reliably before adding longer clauses.
