Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, the use of technology increased so, in future all cars, buses and trucks will be drive without use of any driver. This mean that only people are travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. Although, driverless vehicles has certain drawbacks but I believe benefits are significantly greater.
There are three main advantages of driverless vehicles. First, it reduce human errors such as if human drive a car for long routes so driver need to take rest, sometime he sleep while driving. Additionally, it easily track by the owner of vehicle which lead to reduce rush driving and also reduce accident. For instance, the machine of driverless vehicles are some limitation because of this car are under speed and sometime owner also detect the exact location of vehicle. Furthermore, it also use to manage the finance problem by hire the driver because it does not need to pay machine and easily use by the any age of people who do not know how to drive.
There are some disadvantages of driverless vehicles. Firstly, the maintenance of these vehicle are very high so, poor people cannot afford it also these type of vehicle are more expensive for those people who are under the poverty line. Secondly, it also increase the chance of accident. For example, when car is ran on the road and suddenly some technical issue occur in car so it enhance the chance of accident.
To sum up, although driverless vehicle are some drawbacks like high maintenance and technical issue but it has more benefits like reduce human error and easily track by owner of the vehicle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and you address both sides with relevant points about human error, tracking, cost and technical failures. The examples of a tired driver and a sudden vehicle fault help make the discussion concrete. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, the claim that driverless vehicles help manage “the finance problem” by removing the need to hire a driver is difficult to follow, and the point about tracking is not clearly connected to reducing accidents. Develop each reason by explaining how it works and why it matters, and make the comparison between the overall benefits and costs more explicit. The response meets the task requirements; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a concluding summary. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “For instance” does not clearly illustrate the preceding point about tracking, while “Furthermore” introduces ideas about finance and accessibility that are not smoothly linked. References such as “it” and “these vehicle” can also leave the reader unsure which feature or vehicle is meant. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each example and its supporting point explicit; clearer topic sentences and references would improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main discussion, including “human errors,” “maintenance,” “technical issue,” and “poverty line.” There are also attempts to express specific concepts, such as tracking a vehicle and reducing the need to hire a driver. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, and some phrases make the intended meaning difficult to understand. For example, “reduce rush driving,” “manage the finance problem,” and “pay machine” are not natural expressions in this context. “Under speed” is also unclear. Build a more precise range of vocabulary for safety, operating costs and vehicle technology, and check that each phrase expresses the intended relationship. More accurate collocations would make your relevant ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction and conditional examples such as “when car is ran on the road.” This shows some range, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction remain noticeable. For instance, “it reduce” should have subject–verb agreement, and “driverless vehicles has” uses the wrong agreement; “only people are travelling … will be passengers” also has an unclear clause structure. Some sentences combine several ideas without a clear grammatical relationship, particularly the sentence beginning “For instance.” Practise forming accurate clauses with “if,” “when” and “although,” and check verb agreement and articles. Greater control of these structures would make your meaning clearer while preserving the range you are attempting.
