Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the advantages are greater, and you address both sides with relevant points: fewer accidents and more comfortable use of travel are weighed against technical failures and job losses. However, the position is not consistently explained; the opening says “there are greator advantages,” while the conclusion mainly says driverless vehicles are important and that society should solve the problems. The supporting ideas also remain general. For example, explain how sensors could prevent a particular type of collision, or how displaced drivers might be retrained. Clarifying why the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and developing each point with a specific explanation or example, would make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” help readers identify the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined without showing their relationship. For instance, the sentence about passengers reading, using phones, and travelling to “their office, School, and their homes” combines several benefits without explaining them. The conclusion also does not clearly bring together the comparison made earlier. Use one main idea per sentence, connect explanations explicitly, and make the final paragraph restate why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “sensors,” “accidents,” “passengers,” and “automatic system,” so the reader can identify the topic and your main points. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “driveless vahicles” and “benefits.” Frequent spelling errors, such as “devaloping,” “pedistrians,” and “poverity,” make the writing harder to read. Some word combinations are also unclear, including “adopt their office” and “make the poverty.” Build a more accurate set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. For example, use “autonomous vehicles,” “detect pedestrians,” and “job losses” where appropriate, while ensuring each phrase expresses the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express reasons and contrast, including with “because” and “Although,” and some basic sentence meanings are understandable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur throughout. Examples include “Buses cars and trucks operate,” “the benifit are reduce the accidents,” and “Sometimes system stop the works.” The opening also contains sentence fragments and an incorrectly joined sentence: “In modern world, technology is devaloping rapidly. and…” These patterns sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, for example: “A computer system can detect nearby vehicles and pedestrians.”
